Do I need a blow off valve with an automatic
i cant see not having one being good for the turbo. thats alot of air slamming against the throttle body blade and concussing back to the impeller. that cant be good for it
plus my turbosmart raceport sounds fuggen awesome!

My turbo talon autos have factory blow offs .Maybe as said they didn't realize they needed one or didn't have them back in the 80s. My talons were from like 1990 on.
I am running two on my 99TT.

No, not at all. Last time I thought I've done everything right since pipes didn't come off in 1/4 runs, BUT when I did 0-155mph run, pipes fell off again. Although I must admit that pipe had short rubber connector on it, not x-ply silicone
You don't need one. I'm not running one any more and I'm glad. Caused me all sorts of problems in the past. I'd run one on a manual car for performance reasons but on an auto I'll always run without one.
I'm pretty sure that most turbos can take the stress, everyone thinks they are so fragile.

Most people talking about needing one have read it on the net and you know they can't tell a lie on the Internet! The wastegate dumps boost so why is a blowoff valve necessary? My Duramax that makes 30psi doesn't have a BOV and the turbo has 220k miles it still works great!
im gonna see if this BOV does its job and holds at boost, but if it still causes me greif, then ill be another auto without a BOV lol sill miss the occasional BOV sound though lol sounded pretty cool
Its cheap why wouldn't you just get one anyways? After actually turboing your car why not just spend the little money to be safe. Sure you can get away with not running one but just do it right!
