Default how hot is to hot to warp a trickflow head or aftermarket head

Have a few issues with my car 06 GTO. Thinking i maybe warped a head ?

Most of the time it only went little above half ont stock temp gauge once to little under 3/4 hot. Then the last time when the gauge spiked.

(Is there any issues with the stock engine temp sensor going bad ? Im in the USMC away from my car but my brother was moving it and working on it a little like i asked. temp gauge went little hot idleing in driveway. let it cool for 20 mins drove it 5 miles at 25-35 mph drove fine then drove it 5 more miles 35-45 mph drove fine. pulled in driveway to turn around went 50 yards down road. temp gauge shot straight up to red turn car off. waited 5 mins temp gauge was in the middle and fine temp he pulled it back into driveway and shut it down for today

ideas ?

Car has lot of mods .it Is a procharged 427 warhawk motor. oil looks fine and coolant looks green and fine. But if i semi wiped out a head gaskets would it be random like this ? )

The gauges are a little bit funky. My buddys cam only goat use to do that sometimes. Shoot up and bury in the red, Turn the car off and back on again and it would still be at the normal 190-ish that it ran at.

i know that the f body water temp gauge is basically a dummy. only the 98 models showed you a proper reading. maybe this is the same with the GTO ?

Water pump might be starting to go out. A friend had a similar experience and it was the water pump.

When I was first getting my car sorted out I saw just under 230 a couple of times and no problems yet.

i had a similar issue. it ended up being my water pump. if you can go to a autozone and rent a coolant preassure tester see if it helps any. or start with replacing the sensor or adding an autometer one that will show you a more accurate reading. when my stock gauge spiked i wasnt worried until i looked up and the autometer and saw it was 235*.
the short...i doubt your hurt the head any.
