There is no need to change the cam. You will be able to make enough power to take out your engine, good idea to limit it at 8lbs.

That's not the most ideal lsa. If you have the budget, might as well get a new cam. On the other hand, it might not be that big of an issue with a moderate amount of boost. For me, I'd change it, but I can swap cams in a matter of couple hours.

normally I lm not on a budget, but for this upgrade I wanna keep it budget minded bc I'm in the middle of remodeling my house. ( we all know how costly that can be). so I my plans were swap the heads from 241 to 317 to lower the compression n put the blower on. I wanna be between 500 - 550 rwhp I'll build a forged bottom end 370 down the road in a yr or too. think my goals r realalist?

For your goals that cam will be fine. Later when you're flush, you can upgrade. Enjoy!

your pushing your luck at 500rwhp on a stock bottom end. I would leave the cam alone and stay around 8 lbs. until your ready to build the bottom end.

Was that a head gasket or motor then went a couple weeks back at edgewater?

I was lucky this time. It broke a rocker pedestal for the #1 intake. It opened up a hole into the intake chamber and that's where all the smoke came from. The porting on the heads left less than 1/8" of metal under the pedestal. I had it welded up and should be back at it soon. If I can get a 1.50 something 60' I should have a 9.
