Hello,I do not post here but I have a 2001 Corvette with a 427 (LS7) and a F1. I'm running out of fuel at 4500 rpm. I bought a RSI twin in-tank fuel pump. I have been told that using a hobb switch for the second pump is not necessary to just let both pump run and the extra fuel would return back to the tank, plus you take a chance of the hobb switch failing and the time it takes for it to build pressure in the lines. My car goes into boost really quick. The fuel system has 8an lines ran to both rails and from the tank it also is boost referenced with a regulator. So should I run a hobb switch or not?

If you have lines ran and the regulator up front go ahead and leave both of them running all the time. Do you have one pump feeding each rail? I would combine them at some point incase of a failed pump, wiring, one weaker then the other, ect.

No I just have one line running up to the regulator and it splits from there.

I also run the RSI twin intank hanger with -6 coming from each pump then y-ing to single -8 to the front where it y's into two -8s to the back of the rails with -6 return. I have had the fuel system for a year running both pumps full time and have no issues.
I'm making around 20# via an F1a as well.

I too like to run the hobbs ,,,as it saves your secound fuel pump from running (all of the time) and adding unwanted heat to your fuel .Most importantly too IMO your not beating the **** out of your Fuel Pressure Regulator and your
2nd fuel pump for no other reason then to not worry about a hobbs switch going bad LOL . Ide rather have a healthy FPR and a fresh 2nd fuel pump then worrying about a hobbs switch going bad (which in reality) has hardly any moving parts to go bad ,to begin with (Its just a spring loaded swith in reality) I hooked a light up to my hobbs,,, which i installed into the top of my piller gauge to tell me when its working and also if it ever dies LOL Its alot better then running your 2nd pump all of the time IMO
