Default Do I need meth for this setup?

Im building a forged 346 to be a 9:1 cr, and want to know if I need meth or not? I have a t76 turbo and plan to run 13-15psi of boost to obtain my goal power level. I would rather not mess with meth, but wondered if this compression level was safe to run without it

Compressinon is good . Its your intake temps that will determin if u need meth or not in this case. what is the best gas u can get from the pump?

well hes from new orleans so he can just get free crude oil off the beach and make whatever fuel he wants

Im no tuner, but I think you will be ok, you'll have to run less timing.

I ran 8.7:1 with 15psi and 16* timing on 93 with no problems

You dont need meth.....but u would be able to run a lot more timing and make more power with it

People that "don't want meth" usually have just never tried it...

I think everyone should try meth atleast once. Im going to. Id even let my kids try meth.

hahaha okay, ill probably install is as I already bought it anyway. Just was curious. Ill probably just use the smaller of three nozzles.

Meth is great just dont use it for as band aid to the fuel system.

METH is awesome..................

BUT............

If you don't use the right fail safes it can be disastrous!!!!!!!
ie boost reduction upon pump fail/low fluid level, timing reduction upon pump fail/low fluid level, map switching, or any combination of the aforementioned 3 fail safes. The more fail safes the better.

are you saying you can actually wire in a safty switch to cut boots and/ or timing if you pump for the meth mix quit?

Place the meth nozzle in front of the IAT sensor, That way when it sees the cooler charge it will ramp timing up. the fail safe way to do it its to tune it to only ramp up timing when it sees the cooler temps from the meth spraying. Thats how mine was done for some years now. So in the event the meth fails or u run out nothing will happen. Thats why its better to tune meth in as a cooler vs a huge power adder.

Yup.. best way is to do it via a wide band input. In case your fuel system drops, meth pressure drops, air fuel goes up.. then trip a relay and create your failsafe. Many of todays AF meters ave this. Like the Dynojet, Zeitronix, Red Alert, etc.

Funny the word failsafe only applies to meth injection systems. No other part of your car uses that word.

So how you buld your meth system is important IF your relying on it. Just like when you build your fuel system. You get what you pay for and the attention you give it.

Thats the problem with boost.. you get hooked like a fish on a treble hook.. cant let go and want more.. I have guys at 40+ PSI boost on pump gas.. thats over the deep end.. but guess what.. its the choice they made.

Power is addicting.

If there is more power MOST WILL want to at least try it.

That is true for N/A, juice, or boost just boost is alittle easier to add more...and meth since it tends to make a given power point 'safer' the temptation seems to be greater

And I agree you don't need meth but if you have it I recommend you use it.
