The reason is that the MAF measures all the air going into the motor. If you dump some via the BOV after the MAF, the fueling profile for the motor, until the BOV closes and MAF-measured air catches up, will be off. You could have some ultra-rich spikes that risk washing the oil off your cylinder walls as a result. Rinsed cylinder walls lead to excessive ring wear which is never good with FI. Also leads to contaminated oil, another bad thing for FI.
SD setups can use a BOV no problem, but MAF can't.

im not too sure on the size, if i remember correctly, my previous one blew off during a dyno run. so i cant say exactly.

and so what if i moved the maf after the bov and aftercooler, right before the tb?
