Nothing wrong with doing **** cheaper. I would rather buy the materials and do things myself than pay other people to do it, Id even do it if I broke even because atleast I learned something.

I wonder if the first person to flip truck manifolds around got the same kind of negative response.

I know exactly what it will cost to turbo the car, i have a 8 second mustang just sitting in the shop right now. I know what stuff costs, and I know when I can do it a little cheaper, you should stay out of this thread too.
we gave you options but you don't want to hear from people who been there done that
your only option is to make it your self but you can't afford the mandrels

oh and don't mouth off to a mod

meanwhile ive been getting pms from people helping me out giving me suggestions... helping me out.

i think im gonna buy the ls1 flanges and buy the bends and make it myself... i can afford mandrel bent Us... or im gonna use the passenger side 98 manifold and reverse it, and then use a truck on the otherside... i dont have AC

as for mouthing off to a mod, first of all, im not mouthing off, second, as a mod you should know there are cheaper ways to do things not the ridiculously expensive SW stuff, their **** is top notch but its just not in this budget, for now. ya need to relax man.

ok we told you about reversing the manifolds, you said before you didnt want to do that so it would look good, know ya change your mind, ok.
but that will be your cheapest bet.

you might also look into some shorty headers on ebay, then weld some vbands to them, but not sure if it will fit in your application.

good luck.

i was acually just looking at the shorty headers, do you know if i will notice much a performance difference on shortys vs a cast manifold? ive been told cast gets hotter so it helps with spool?

how about some posts that contain some content instead of dumb suggestions

i heard big block ford headers are spaced like LS headers, maybe there is a shorter header kit I can re-flange?

hard to tell if they would fit in a 3rd gen without test fitting them.
or test fitting any other manifold, not to many do ls1 3rd gen swaps with turbos here.

IN 3rd gen its difficult because ther is no standard for mounts.
what works for one guy may not work for another. the mounts come into play alot. also the accesories may interfere. also depends what accesory configuration the car has

ive actually made 3 kinds of turbo manifolds for 3rd gens. but i decided against marketing them. since 50/50 they may not be 100% bolt on.
all made from tubular steel.
but i have the passsenger side hi mount with x-over like on my car now.

"trucks manifolds" with x/y pipe crossover. type

and im currently working on tt. which believe or not are actually the easiest to fabricate imo. but need s coil pax relocated becuase interfere with dp. and would prolly be the easiest to market.
with manifolds it gets hard with the triangle flanges and i do not weld cast iron.

I'm not sure the GTO ones will work. It again looks like the steering knuckle will get in the way. I'm dealing with steering shaft issues and have had to make a crazy up and over bend on the back primary. I can see were having diffrent motor mounts would make it hard. Someone needs to make Solid mounts for 3rd gens with LS-Juans

tubular kmembers offer the best clearance. the way i see it now, make sense to pay for tub kmember and save by using stock manifolds. for hot parts. and avoid fitment issues and headaches

Default Why not build your own?

I bought a set of weld up "circle track diy headers" Here are the results. This is going in a 69 firebird so I have quite a bit of clearance....
