I would say start out with an intank Walbro 255 pump, and some 42 LB injectors for the fuel system. That is a basic setup you could go with. Tuning is critical, you don't want to flood the motor out by not flashing the PCM for the injectors.

I would also say do some suspension upgrades; I know it's not turbo-related, but I found that suspension made a huge difference. Get some LCAs, some relocation brackets, SFC, and a torque arm so you can atleast put some of the power down.

Also, you have to think about what BOV and wastegate you are going to purchase? Are you going to go with an electronic boost control system, or a manual one? Also, intercooler. You have to consider how you are going to mount that, etc. There is so much to it.

well i am still getting things together that i need. i know i am getting a JGS 44mm waste gate tial 40mm BOV i am gonna front mount it behind the radiator. i already have alot bought for the car. i am in iraq rite now so i am in the stage of buying all the things i need to get started on the turbo system when i get back. the car is goin to the shop to get painted and its getting some things that i bought, like eibach lowering suspension, stage 3 clutch, short throw shifter, new shock tower brace made by 6litereater. a few cosmetics like new MOMO steering wheel, and some other interior stuff, i am thinkin about changing the heads on it after i get back also. i was thinkin about some 317 heads. i pretty much have the idea of how the hot side will be made for the turbo i jus need ideas on the cold side. like where to mount the filter, i ama newbie to boost so i will have questions here and there

i disagree about your statement about the fuel system. do it once and do it right. you should do at least a -8 Feed and -6 returb or use the stock feed as a return, twin intank Walbros, fuel rails, boost referenced fuel pressure regulator, and pressure switch to engergize the 2nd pump. I would recommend 60s at the minimum for injectors. the tune will be the most important part and a good tuner can get you sorted out.

that might be the best idea if the above posts make no sense and youre in a hurry to get it done. These arent exactly a bolt on!

Its cool man, last fall when I started my build I didnt even know how a turbo worked. Youre going to need 2 walbro fuel pumps and 60lb injectors at minimum, you dont need to worry about the larger return and feed lines unless youre looking for 600+

Keep reading while youre in the desert and youll have a good idea what youre doing by the time youre back. Thanks for serving!

As posted earlier, see the sticky. It's all there.
Then come back with questions on what you can't figure out.
Also, these don't go together quick. Unless you want to spend your off time building it. You really should consider getting it built.

450-500?... On your worst day you can reach those goals with a turbo car. Mark my words... you will turn it up....

but remember it is a stock motor. i dont want to blow anything in the bottom end jus yet. lol. i wanna beable to get used to boost then when i get ready i might put aside a motor and maybe start a forged 383 or something. maybe a LSX. but i wanna learn boost firts before i get into building a new motor and see wats the capabilities of this turbo cause it is said to be safe to push 9psi of boost on a stock motor and not have to worry? is that true?

At this point in your education process, you should read all the stickies at the top of the Forced Induction section. Then read other people's build threads. Ask specific questions to the people in their build threads. Anyone that has a build thread going (usually no matter how old) will have notification that you have posted in their thread and will respond quickly. General questions tend to get overlooked as they require very lengthy answers. This is the very best way to see what you are getting into as you will see all the snags that people have run into along the way. Here is a link to my first build. I tried to be very thorough and include as many details and pictures as possible. Your fuel system requirements will be less and you are using a smaller turbo, otherwise it's pretty much the same thing.

well i am pretty sure i can get some of yall on here to let me know wat i need to know. i am pretty sure i can pick up the hot side off of here. someone already offered to build me one but the price that he gave me was rediculously high. so i am trying not to get stiffed with overpaying for something. i am pretty sure that the truck manifold kit which consist of the whole hot side for like 900 dollars is a little high? i am prolly gonna start on the build next summer cause that way i can have it down for the summer so that way if i take the AC out it will start getting cooler when i get it all together and running. i am very grateful to all of you replying to my thread and thanks for the info. pleaseee keep it goin with the info

I payed about $800 for my complete hotside stuff including truck manifolds/mild steel crossover and downpipe.....

If your looking for hotside stuff for sale look in the classifieds section and search for turbo and you will find a couple of people selling truck manifolds and hotside parts.....
