Is the B1 cam even made on a LS grind or is just a SBC cam? A regular SBC cam won't work in an LSx motor.... You don't want anything with less that 115 LSA.

Then why did the designer of the B1's spec me one on a 113?

OP- I think the cam in you sig would work well unless you want more RPM.

Wait...B1 as in MTI-spec'd cam for Brooke with the red firehawk. The B1 from WAY back in the day? the 221/221 114 cam? wow...blast from the past.

yea thats the one. lol i looked at some of speed inc grinds and the 221 duration seems like it would do good in the 5.3 although it is advanced 4* not common on turbo cams.

I was originally going to use the cam in my sig but it sold i need to update it. I read so much about the possibility of back pressure and things like that so leaned toward a single pattern grind. The b1 actually runs dam strong motor for what it is. I wonder if custom would yield better results or retarding the cam 2-4 degrees help as well.

What turbine & a/r on the PTK?

In a lack of sleep fog, I was thinking of a different cam.

I thought you bought a 224/228???? That I wanted and had to go buy new for $150 more!

If it's like a GTK w/68mm and you run plenty of down pipe and muffler.
A small conventional split might work. The 302 guys run conv split w/o issue on 65mm.
How about a 219/219 113 .600"/.585" custom voodoo? It's what I got spec'd till I went bigger turbo and didn't order it.

Apologies....113 is sufficient. I was referring to the old SBC and Pontiac cams with something like a 108.

I see a few people run the 215/215 114lsa cam. There are a few turbo buicks that have run it before the ls times. Stock4.8 and a few guys run it with good results. A custom grind could be in the cards

Unreal. For everyone who hopped on this site in recent years Brooke was/is a legend in this community. Back when MTI was around him and Tony were some of the first with cams in their cars...back with Mac mid-lengths and hypertech programmers. He had a hidden dry kit that EVERYONE copied (including me -- Brooke I bought your MTI lid like 9 years ago...haha)

That ***** as old as...ready....Tech-LS1.com. Where's Steve? KP was on there I know that...
