If your talking about "truck manifolds", go look on Kurt Urban's website, he has premaid copper gaskets made by SCE that are specifcly for them. . . . . if your talking about truck manifolds that is.

I use copper rtv gasket maker. If you are using stock truck manifolds and are dead set on running a gasket, be aware that they are different on each side.

Took my turbo piping off today. Found out why I blew my percy's carbon gasket apart was probably because one bolt had backed out and the connection was just a bit loose. All that was left of the gasket was a half an inch section. Don't know where the rest of the gasket went but hopefully nothing hit the turbo. Turbo acts normal as far as I can tell.

I thought using rtv was getto but sounds like its not if all you guys like doing it. What is the copper rtv like when it drys? Is it just like a metal copper gasket after it drys or is it rubbery like other rtv products. Is it hard to clean off? Is it possible to damage the turbo if it flakes off?

flat flanges do not need gaskets.

And if they arent flat, make them flat.

Guys do you mean this copper RTV? It's rated to only 700F, how can it withstand the heat of manifolds glowing red???

Old thread, but yes that will work. Many have used it for a long time with success. When I use that it seals great and never leaks even on really hot exhaust.
