Alco inj helps alot. it is a good power adder helper.

You can also use the PE vs. RPM table to add fuel when the MAF is maxed out. On a supercharger vehicle this is relatively straightforward. It's a bigger kludge on a turbo car since your boost level at a given rpm can vary so much more (as compared to a supercharged vehicle). Basically you have to tune for maximum airflow at each point via pe vs. rpm, and once you enter pe mode (based on throttle position) if you are not at max boost you will be pretty rich. (after maf maxes out).

If your piping is condusive to the setup probalby the best is going with a twin maf setup as harlan has done - this would effectively cut down the metering granularity by a factor of 2, but the stock type meters are already very precise at lower airflows, so this isn't really an issue. The ford type meters definitely work, though I am suspect now of any analog circuit type voltage -> frequency converter - I don't know how pro-m's work, so that would be something to check out. Otherwise you can make one yourself with a little effort (a digital one). Which choice you go with probably depends on your piping setup.

That sounds interesting!!

Also how would you setup the twin MAFS? (Programming wise in the PCM?)

Thanks

with the twin MAF like harlan has, woulnd work TOO well for the guys running single turbos or blowers, it could work, but the intake tube would have to be split, the seperate MAF in placed, then re-emgerd before then TB

Jim@pro-m

Is what your saying is that the stock mass air is large enough diameter to flow enough for our motors? So the stocker and your adjuster(option 1) we would be able to make like 600rwhp wiht proper tunning?

or is the solution the PNP lare bore unit that isnt made yet? I was just wondering with the calibrator that you mentioned, how well does it work, and what would then new HP limit be for a stock computered car??

thanks, I know some of this is starting to get redundant

I am in for a large bore meter with the converter built in, when they become available. Please make em: I like how you have the ford meter listed with HP ratings on your site, that would be awesome to have something similar for the LS1.

What about using a setup like a Apexi S-AFC airflow converter that can trick the massair readings from the massair to the computer to show lower #'s???

Default Maxed Maf

I just shipped 2 units today, one supporting 1000hp 96 Impala the other a 2001 Tahoe at 550 hp. One unit was a Pro M 80mm with LS1 style electronics supporting 550hp, and GM Maf Tuner. Pressure drop was about 4.5 inches which is low compared to an LS1 meter at about 10-12 inches of H2O. Also shipped a custom draw thru tube with pro M electronics and a GM Maf tuner supporting up to 1000 hp. Both units shipped 2-4-04. Results should be back in the next couple of days. Another customer is sending us his custom blow thru tubing for a 1000hp turbo application and we will fabricate something for him as well. We have had some success at rescaling LS1 meters for larger injectors but I do not want to commit yet, we have also sent out a rescaled LS1 meter and I am awaiting confirmation of this as well. The best way to go appears to be a cold air kit and 85mm LS1 style bored out meter for most applications under 550hp. Larger than that requires Our custom calibrated electronics and a Maf tuning device. Stay tuned for more updates.
