Congrats to Mike. The finals was a holeshot win for Mike his 7.30 to a 7.27.
I knew when Mike was ahead at the 1/8th when he went by that he had won.
Norwalk 8.90 index friday. $400 for the win and $50 for #1 qualifier
It took until 1:30 AM to finish racing there was one oil down after another, it was a true Friday the thiteenth.
slip in the center was a breakout pass during eliminations. I couldn't figure out how he beat me I was sure I broke out, then I saw he redlight.
Slip on the left is my #1 qualifing pass 8.909 last month I was #1 with a 8.900 perfect pass!
Slip on the right was some 1/8 mile action from Thompson last month, another breakout but it was a buy run so I didn't care. The 1/8 was seven hundredths faster than the 8.86 figure that pass was a 8.7. I still have not ran the car with the tuneup I used on the dyno when it made 1K rwhp. Cant wait for the cooler weather, then I will turn the boost up.
I have ran an 8.90 in qualifing at both chaos events I went to. I was #1 qualifier at 3 of the 4 index races I have run this year and was .004 from first in the fourth and won two of the four events and was in the semi's of the other two.

Mike got it done against Hinzman, he earned that with driving ability. After his semifinal run where I set the timers for something a bit faster than the 7.30 since he had a bye, he lost traction in the top of first with 1520lb of fuel going into the engine! I guessed the track could not hold it in the final so we decided to back it off. In the semifinal Hinzman struck the tires a few times also, but kept after it for the win. In the final both cars had the tailights wagging all the way down, it was very exciting seeing two drivers refuse to give up! Norwalk did a great job with the track after two full length oil downs, although they were a little slow cleaning up! We were testing the PI intake that day again and it showed some progress, but we still have some work to do. Mike went on to Milan Saturday and won that 1/8 mile event the next day with the old trusty Edelbrock intake on it.

Great job Ray! I liked it all except when you tried to run me over in the pits! Thanks for representing KUP at Norwalk along with Mike, it was nice seeing two customers getting it done....
