gt3582r's as twin turbos
just curious if anyone is using them in a twin setup. i have a pair of them with .84 ar t-3 turbines and i was wanting to know how quickly they spool. other than a z06 cam my motor is stock.I wasnt planning on running more than 10-12psi.

i looked on garretts website and it said they work well on large v8 twin setups but my version of large v8 ( ie 400+ cu in) as compared to garretts version of large v8 could be totally different

^^^^ twin t3 flanges should support 1300 easy. when is the common person going to need more than that? lol.
to OP
gt35 will support anything form your stock LS1 with low boost like 7 psi. to a wide monster making 1200 horse 427. good turbo.

i am running those turbo's on my rear mounted vette. I am getting the final tune on it this weekend so i don't have any high boost numbers for you but these exact turbo's (i bought them used) made 1060 rwhp at 21 pounds on a 402 ls motor..... I run a 370 ls motor and the boost starts pretty early on my car, around 2500 rpm's on a rear mount so spooling is not an issue. Best of luck on your project, they are killer turbo's.

There is a build in progress on PT.Net with twin GT3582R's on a 427. They are shooting for 1000+ RWHP.

The GT3582R is my favorite all around street/ strip turbo in a twin.
Ran a set with 0.8xar on a 427......easy 9.2's at146mph at 18psi...spools super fast....I would use the 1.06ar if I did it again.

I think this vette has twin GT35Rs, but I can't find the documentation to prove it. swear I saw a thread about it on here. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WfILeyckpmQ
In other words, they'll do exactly what you want.

ill assume my fuel system is adequate. a1000 pump 55lb/hr injectors a1000 boost referenced regulator. cell with #10 fitting out #8 return. something i have been questioning is how does the truck intake hold up to boost? seeing as this is in a truck i figured it would help with torque since it has longer runners and i already have all the truck accessory drive components that came with the motor.

The 6262 will outperform an off the shelf 35r. 6265 will as well. If you replace the 61mm cast wheel on a 35r with PTE's 62mm billet wheel or FP's billet wheel it will stomp the **** out of a 6262 or 6265.

I just looked at the FP units and they are nice. The price isn't that bad at all compared to a shelf 35R. They are much more expensive than the precision units though. How much of a difference are you seeing between the FP units and the precision units in terms of power and spool?
