370 with a tc78 What converter and rear gear? th400 and 9"
Alot of the FI guys don't really post in the AT section.
Setup is a forged 370 with about 9.8-1 CR cam is a Speed Inc TU1 which is a 226/226 on a 113. Stock 317's with Patriot dual extremes. going to push 18lbs max but usually around 15 or so.
I am getting ready to get a th400 that is a RMVB with a brake on it. I am unsure on where to go for converter size and brand etc.
Rear end will be a 9" of some brand i am looking at a few currently. What rearend are you guys running and gear?
What do you guys have? How is it working? what is your tire size, 60' times and rear?

id hit up dave at yank, top notch products and top notch customer service. Talk him through your mods, and he will spec out stall that he thinks will work well, on top of that, you get 1 free stall within the first year i think. he is a board sponsor as well

Your not gonna set any records, So may as well go with a gear like 3.27 gear, if not something like a 3.08. I have 3.42 an 275/60 MT Drag radials and at 3660 weight cut 1.3 60 foots Go through traps at 6k rpms. I have a 3200 stall and it's a little too loose even.

12 - 14 with a undersized PT67, so yours should run pretty decent with the 78 in comparison. Keep the car with a nice street gear. I have 3.73s in my turbo Mustang, the car is worthless on the street with the instant spool and aggressive gears. I plan to swap to 3.08 or 3.27 an should still make it to bottom 9s.

When it comes to converters for turbo cars I strongly suggest sticking with a company that is well versed in making them for turbo cars. There is a world of difference between off the shelf converters and those done by companies that build them to your setup. Sometimes this extra knowledge is going to cost you more up front, but it can save you in the long run in swapping converters several times.

I have a mwc fab 9 with a 3.5 gear. I got this gear when the car was 6 spd, and changing a gear in a 9 is easy, so if i have to change no biggie.
I have a Drc th400, forged 370 long block, 9.3 to 1 compression, a bigger specd turbo cam, and patriot stage 3 317's, and a precision gt4276 turbo with 1.12 ar, so the turbo is a little bigger to. I talked to ptc because they had a great price, but they also had a great repuation. I researched alot, they specd me a converter that stalls around 4400.
I also have a tb, 2 step ect. I still need to get the car tuned, so i dont have track experience, but similiar combo so just letting you know what was specd to me.
My car is also track only, i dont drive it on the street, and i want to go as fast as i can with this setup.
Good luck, Chris
