new stock bottom end record

This entire combo(motor/turbo/tranny/converter/etc) is all going in another car this winter to make me a fully loaded daily driver.

Now it is pretty clear, that you can run an 8 sec pass.
You should probably be able to go even quicker(at that weight) if the track would let you.(but, I didn't see a chute)
I can't believe how lite the car is, Is that 2600 lbs with the driver and fuel?
On the Fairmont, that car wasn't that lite. nearly 3200 with me in it, and fuel.
Full front bench seat, full rear seat, all stock glass, full dash, heater box, stock k member, only thing that made it weigh less was the rust holes.

I can't take anything away from the feat, with driving it around on the street, and then nocking down a time like that.
Way to go, with a stock short block, It's an aluminum l33 5.3 if I read right.

I do think it has more in it, I'm putting my transbrake transmission in along with a few other small tweaks this week to try to see if it will go faster, but yeah no chute thus why I was making 1/8th mile passes. Also in a few weeks with cooler weather I'm going to try to go ahead and turn the power up more, the TC78 is my problem though, not sure if it will let me make much more without pushing coolant, but I plan on trying.
The thrust bearing was probably taken out by the turbo 400, this is a real common problem with TurboBuicks using turbo 400s, and they have the same trust bearing setup as the LSx engines.
There are modifications that can be done to the t400 to eliminate this problem, but I don't remember what was being done. Something about convertor charge pressures, the solution is talked about on the TurboBuick.com in the transmission section.
