We run 2000 bolts at a time and A1 is still pricey.

sounds good max, 9.99 is my goal, lol. For Now. got my arp 2000 rod bolts in today, and went with Head bolts for this go around, i will stud her up when i replace the motor next season, this is literally just a "hold me over" engine, and one i can use to mock everything up with.

if it breaks, then, it breaks.

I'm guessing the middle bolts are the long ones. Correct? Middle heads bolts that is?

Cutting a groove long ways in a stock long bolt seems to work pretty good for cleaning the threads out, I usually use a cut off wheel.

did you get stock head bolts or ARP head bolts? If you got ARP bolts I would go ahead and return them and get the studs. When you go to replace the engine the Studs will carry over, which will save you from buying them later.

I have nothing against what you are suggesting, but the motor im looking at comes with studs the bolts should for now.

Im running a bone stock lq9. The only thing ive done is put a custom ground tsp cam, springs and pushrods. It just went a 6.69 @108 in the 1/8th with a crappy 60' running about 14psi. We plan to push it to around 18#'s. Granted im not shifting the car real high usually around 5900rpm or so.
