Get some real tires on that thing to get your 60' down and you will be in the 9's. What turbo are you running?

It has the stock 7.5" rear with torque arm suspension, so Im sure it would break if it hooked very good. Im trying to figure out what to do for a replacement then I can put some 275 MT DRs on it.

The turbo is a 75mm S400 with 83mm turbine and T4 housing. It is $800 from forced inductions so not much more than the Brazillian jobbers.

I dynoed the car and it made 518whp right at 5500rpm on the stock cam, 13# boost and 17 degrees of timing. Not sure how a 3300# car goes 136mph in the quarter mile on 518whp. Maybe the high torque of the car helps.

I would at least slide a ls6 setup in. You can run the same et with 3-4 psi less or keep the boost the same and go .5 faster. We had a customer with a bone stock 5.3 and a $550 76mm turbo go 10.0. As we all know you can get away with a lot of stuff when you don't care about the motor. The s10 ran 10 flat at 17psi and didn't et anybetter when he tried running up to 25psi. He ended up collapsing a litter. He now has 6.0 with Afr 225 and a 235/235 cam and ran the same 1/8 mph on 9psi.

Ive thought about this post alot the last few days, while I like going fast on the stock cam you are right, I would probably go alot faster with just a cam. Im going to order up a TU0 cam which is 216/216 and see how that does, gotta stay low rpm with the stock rods and pistons, Im too broke to be replacing those yet. Thanks for the info!

You have great results! I have installed the Z06 cam kit, and waiting for my car to come back from body shop. Have the cash to go turbo, but I was going to run it N/A for a while to learn how to tune, and then install turbo. What do you tune with, and what is your fuel system made of?

Mine is carbed, so I tune with a screwdriver! My pump is a Prostar 500 and use a 13202 Aeromotive regulator. Put the turbo on now, you can learn to tune it on 3psi or something low!! Good luck with it!

It is a GMPP single plane, pretty much the same as the Victor JR, also running a 6010 box at 17 degrees, 50% e85 and 50% 93 octane gas mixture. CSU 750 hp carb. Im going to put a gas carb on it and move the timing down to 15 degrees, the e85 is too hard to get ahold of around here.

Dynoed the car with the TU0 cam and Pac 1218 springs installed today. It was having a hard time pulling any rpm and really struggled past 5500rpm, I noticed the plugs seemed shot earlier today loading it on the trailer but too late to find some replacements. Lost the tach signal on the dyno at 5550rpm, but it made 592whp at 5500, same rpm peak as with the stock cam. This cam should peak around 6000-6200 on my steup, some different plugs and it should gain another 30whp or so.

so the stock cam peaks at 5500 rpm? thats good, then ill be able to keep my rev limiter low and still make some good power. pretty happy about that.

how many lbs of boost also??

Yeah the stock LQ4 cam peaked right at 5500rpm it was kind of a suprise, it also ran good at the track shifting at 5500rpm and went through the traps at 6000rpm still pulling decent. The stock cam works really well, makes a ton of mid range torque. It was 13# boost on the stock cam dyno pull and on this pull with the TU0. As impressive as the stock cam is, the TU0 and probably any small cam like the LS6, makes 70whp more at the same low 5500rpm, should make 100-120whp more at 6000+ if you dont have fouled out spark plugs. I bought the TU0 because it is very close to what "Stock48" uses in his truck with 317 heads and he runs low to mid 9s, his performance is very impressive.

Blowthru and LS engines dont mix in most peoples minds, but I do computers for a living and I dont want to fark with them at all after work with my hobbies even if it means losing better mpg, drivability, blah blah blah.

This cam is 216/216 and .566 lift and 114. It is almost identical to the Isky cam "Stock48", I think his name is Jarrett, had ground for a few people and uses himself. I think he makes around 1000whp with it and 317 heads, I wanted the littlest cam possible that has been shown to make more power than I ever probably will. It sounds almost stock, if you didnt know it was aftermarket you would assume it was stock. My carb wont idle below 850rpm for some reason even fooling with the mixture screws but at that rpm it is super smooth.

Stock cam went 10.8@136 in my car, today with the TU0 cam and PAC 1218 springs it went 10.7@145 on the same wastegate setting, same boost. 9mph gain from a super mild cam change is pretty good. I ran a 2.3 60 foot, the TU0 makes the boost come on even earlier than the stock cam so I'll have to put a boost controller on it for 1st gear if I want to get better times.
