Default Stock LQ4 cam, any performance data?

Do any of you have dyno or track data for any LQ4 turbo setups using the stock LQ4 cam? I am finishing up my LQ4 with an S400 T4 1.10 and am going to use the stock cam at first before deciding on what cam to get. Just curious to see what others have gotten with the stock cam. Thanks

wouldnt mind knowing myself, ive heard of some pretty impressive gains from going with the LS6 cam, i dont know if that means the truck cam sucks or the LS6 is just really that good...

Seen mid 10s on stock cam, swap to LS6, and get to 9.96. What is a S400, I know it's a turbo, but where you find them, and what the cost, also what size would that be?

It is $265 for the cam + springs + longer pushrods, so around $450 right? I have been looking for one of these mythical cheap ebay special pullout cams for $150 or whatever and I never see one.

Any idea on the guy who went from 10.5 to 9.9, is that all he changed? The S400 is borg warners medium sized cheaper turbo, mine is a 75mm. Here are some examples of them http://www.forcedinductions.com/productsborgwarner.htm

Factory camshaft part numbers
The 99-00 LQ4 6.0L used the 12560967 - this is also used in the 5.3L
The 01-up LQ4 6.0L used the 12561721
The 02-up LQ9 6.0L also used the 12561721

Factory Camshaft specs are:
12560967 191/190 duration at .050 0.457/0.466 lift on a 114 Lobe center
12561721 196/207 duration at .050 0.467/0.479 lift on a 116 Lobe center

In my experience on my LQ4 JY set up, the car ran out of steam at 5500 with the stock cam. I swapped in a cam similar to the LS6, and dropped .1-.2 in the 1/4 and picked up a MPH or so everywhere. The car now pulls strong to 6200 easily.

Stock cam dyno, no dyno with the new cam, I think the low pull was on 10lbs, and the high pull is on ~15

Thanks for the info and dyno graph, those are some great results on a stock cam. Im suprised it doesnt make quite a bit more torque than horsepower like the stock engine does. This LQ4 and S400 of mine is replacing a 4.3 V6 and same S400 in a 3200# car that went 132mph in the 1/4 mile on 16#, so Im hoping this LQ4 will be able to do the same with the stock cam and 14-16#.

Thanks everyone for the responses.

The stock cam works pretty damn good, Ive been driving it around on 4-5psi and it runs as good as the previous V6 setup on 10# that ran 123mph so this at 15-20psi should be 135mph+. I'll find out next Friday and post back.

I am going to try to finally get to the track this next weekend. For a cheapo stock setup, an LQ4 and 10# is pretty awesome torque for the street. This turbo is making boost right off idle, Ive got a faster turbo big block but this one is more fun with the instant power.

I ran 10.0 @ 135 on the stock cam at 16ish psi on a bone stock LQ9 long block. Only thing that I changed were the push rods and the timing chain. 3800# race weight.

Awesome, thanks for the info. 135 @ 3800# should be 140 @ 3300# if everything is running right, fantastic!

Mediocre results tonight at 10# boost.

Setup is stock LQ4, MSD 6010, 3.31 gears, th350, 26" tires, GMPP carb intake, 750 carb and S400SX T4 1.10ar. Ran 50% pump gas and 50% methanol.

For some reason I accidently left the limiter on the 6010 at 5200rpm and was on it half way between the 1/8 marker and 1/4 marker. I was all over the limiter in every gear like a dog on a cat turd.

2.15 60'
102mph 1/8th
122mph 1/4
11.65

It should go 128-130 with the limiter moved to 6000rpm, Im going to try to go back out on Sunday and see what happens.

Yeah stock springs, heads, the long block is 100% stock.

EDIT TWO DAYS LATER: I just remembered I put the cheap ARP rod bolts in when I replaced the piston I broke originally while running twice the timing that was safe (32 degrees )

I moved the rev limiter up and it went about 6000rpm through the traps and didnt lose power or float the valves. Wound up going 10.8 @ 136.5 mph starting at 10psi and creeping up to 14psi at the end.

2.00 60'
108mph 1/8th 7.23
136.5mph 1/4
10.81
