I ran my 8.9 on the stock 98 pcm but I was fudging the fuel. With a 2000 PCM, you shouldn't have a problem. Switching to the BS3 would be a mistake for sure. You would lose resolution and alot of scanning capabilities and like I mentioned, your gauges. Unless you piggy back the stock pcm and then it's just a clusterfuck.

Plug and play with your stock PCM and you could always go to 120#'s. 160's are on the large side for 1K whp in a V8! That harness is key, saves a couple hours of wiring. I hate wiring crap like that![Punch](https://ls1tech.com/forums/images/smilies/LS1Tech/gr_punch.gif)
There's no reason to go to a stand alone with a GM car especially if it's going to be a street car. Also I'd suggest converting to a new style ZR1 maf and use a MAF tune. With that set up your car will run much, MUCH smoother with a good tuner and actually be drivable around town.

I am putting together a similar setup and haven't nailed down the injectors. But the FIC high impedance seem to have good feedback. I was also looking at running the AEM controller on top of the PCM for 2 step, ease of tuning, etc. Opinions on these for our situation?

Stock 99 ecu with a AEM driver box and some 160's. Picked up NIB 160's for $350 and we run the car on E85. Speed Inc tuned the car and its the quickest ET ever on a stock ecu if I'm not mistaken.
