Have the "old" issues with FI been solved....?
I do not visit the FI section very often, but I am wondering, have these cars become more reliable with FI setups? I used to remember reading about heads lifting, blown headgaskets, and busted pistons back in the day....Even with low boost levels. Maybe all of the good LS1edit tuning has made blowers more safe in LSx applications?
TIA,
-Nick
Hell if you could reliably get 500 RWHP through manifolds and cats @ 6# of boost just by adding an in-line pump, a vortech, and some 42#ers with a tune why would you do anyting else?
i remember when i thought 500 rwhp was something godlike, and now i get depressed if my car dyno's around that!

. Back when I started looking around on the LS1 boards (Early '99) waaayyyy before the LS1 edit days I remember people having lots of problems wit FI and these motors... All of my friends at the time were running blown Mustang setups (5.0L and 4.6L) so I was particularly interested in going blown.... I dropped the issue and started becoming intreagued with camshaft mods and big-bore setups.....
Now it seems the tides are turning, all of the latest results I have read with centrifugal blowers and stock internal LS1s and LS6s have been positive....There are quite a few people over on the vette forums that are running 500 RWHP through stock manifolds and cats (centrifugal )
. Also lots of people running Magnussons with good results (450 RWHP +) though I have never been a big fan of Roots blowers.

and you get to greedy
