Default cam suggestions for 02 LS1, N/A now, turbo later

I've got a stock 2002 LS1/4L60 coming, it was a takeout from a camaro. I plan on putting it in my 95 mustang and will likely add a turbo when time allows. I plan to drive it with the stock n/a setup for a while but I'd like to upgrade the cam before I put the engine in the car keeping in mind that ultimately there will be a turbo/IC added. Are there any cams out there that will up the performance of the stock LS1 AND work well with a F/I setup in the future?

Depends on your goals: RPM range, idle quality, driveability and intended use.

Sorry, should have included that info. The LS1's bottom end will remain stock so I probably won't turn >6k. I'd really like to make some good power down low (3k-5K) since I will be driving this car on the street. I'll drive it to work a couple days a week, my wife will drive it on occasion, it needs to have really good street manners. I'm not looking for a real choppy idle just to show off the fact that the motor has a big cam, just want to get a little more out of the engine & a cam swap seems to make the most sense.

What heads are you going to run and how much compression? Since you mainly want a nice torque setup it will be important to get your dynamic compression ratio up. Something with an early IVC (intake valve closing) point will increase low end torque and keep your rpm range in check.

I don't plan on changing heads. I may not even take them off, probably just do a cam & spring swap.
