i think he is asking where are you planning on putting your wastegate? because in that picture your showing there is no where to mount a wastegate

But the best place would be for the pipe to be with the flow of exhaust, wouldnt the turbo be in the way?

I was thinking about cutting a 90 or 45 at a 45 degree angle and that should position it away from the turbo. Is that a bad idea?

you want the shortest, straightest, largest diameter pipie for wastegate to be the most efficient. i needed a 50mm wastegate on my TC76 to get the boost down to 3 psi on my last build as because i used a 90* wastegate 2.25" pipe. what wastegate do you plan to use?

it may be regared as overkill but you could use a twin wastegate setup. that would give you optimal boost control and allow you to pull the boost down to the spring if you need.

angle it with the exhaust flow and you should be ok. mine is in a very similar spot and held 8#'s without issue with a tial 46mm and a tc76. yes going with the direct line of flow is ideal but it should still work with a decent wastegate

not sure how low youre looking to go on the boost though, but i never saw an issue

wastegates use the "biggest your budget and area will allow" rule. you can never have too large of a gate. you need to know how much boost you are looking to run. higher the boost the smaller the gate. A friend of mine uses a GT47-88 on his 2.4 GSX and only uses a Tial 38. of course he is also using a CO2 bottle and makes around 50 psi on KILL.

I say as long as it can hold the boost down to the lowest setting the car will see then it really dont matter. both my setups had about the worst wastegate position imaginable and still held the boost down to 6psi (never tried any less).

That was a JGS 40mm on a 70mm and another on a tc76.

But on the other hand we used a Percision 50mm on the nova (408, T6 BW88mm).... also with pretty bad placement and have never seen less than 11psi... But some of that has to do with the fact that the t6 is pretty free flowing (IE... not a lot of back pressure on this setup at lower boost levels)

Go with JGS wastegates. Great product at a good price. I always use 1 on each bank, so a total of 2. I mount them close to the header. You can buy direct from JGS or I typically buy them from Jose @ Forced Inductions. I think his price is a little better on them.
