I ran 8.8 at 156 on a stock crank. But..... when we tore the engine down, there was some evidence of crank flex. When we rebuilt, Shawn, installed a Callies crank, half filled the block, pinned the mains, double o-ring the heads etc....
For the OP's application, you will probably be fine. Pinning the mains, and filling the block would be a good idea though.

nobody has mentitioned the 4.8 crank 3.268 stroke
I am build a 5.3 (4.0 bore , 4.8 crank 329 cu in)
wondering if anyone has push the 4.8 crank to 1000 plus
should be stronger than 3.622 stroke because of the journal overlap any thoughts on this

I just had to tear my 4.8/6.0 down and the 3 center mains were worn out. My car with me in it weighs about 3600 and was trapping 145. I have a 100 shot on it that I wasn' running on the track but do in Mexico. Hope that helps.

Well, he's had 8 years to figure it out. Hopefully he's got things ironed out.

I'm putting together your typical 5.3L bored to 347 ci with stock manifolds, a T88, forged rods and pistons, yadda yadda. I can't decide whether to spend the extra $1,000 for a forged crank. I see lots of people making tons of power with a stock cast crank, but can it handle 900-1,000 flywheel hp? This motor going in a dedicated drag car, and will only turn 7,000 rpm at most. Assuming the tune is spot on, will a stock crank hold?
I was gonna stay stock and do a 370ci.....until I found out the Callies 3.825" crank was so damn cheap. Made a stronger 390ci.

If you have the money, get the forged crank. Stock cranks are obviously holding big power, but why not have extra strength. Crank breaks you could lose the whole damn engine.

Guy named Richard Holdener with westech did a video on fb a while back of 6.0 with stock internals except for cam and added intake. Goal was to see what up it popped at. Made it to 1460+/- before seeing insides on boost. Guy does great vids on intakes, cams, nitrous etc on LS based engines
