which intake? trying to decide what intake to buy, LS1, LS6 edelbrock pro flow or victor jr
100k stock bottom end LQ4
317 heads with patriot springs and retainers
cam is 230/238 @.50 around .600 lift and 116 lobe seperation
c6 manifolds flipped
Right now all I have is the long block looking at getting two 6265 precision turbos 60lb injectors I want to make 650 rwhp on a budget
I can get a ls1 intake for $50 LS6 for $300 pro flo for $450 or victor jr for
$450 plus an elbo
what is the best choice? how much power will a after market intake make over a stock on with FI

if you are goin bubget get the ls1 and block off the EGR crap... lots run the LS6 and make great power...
myself goin to be ising the ls6....
would like to see the pro flo xt used though good looking intake... maybe when i get a cowl hood i can get one

I have seen 60 rwhp gained from switching from an LS2 intake manifold to a FAST 92 intake manifold, with no other mods so I know the newer FAST intakes work very well. Bob

I made over 1k on a ls6 with stock tb. If you cant swing the $300 right now go with the ls1. When you pressureize it, it will flow fine especially at 650. If $ is that tight you will have other areas you need to spend the money.
If I could fit a ProFlo XT, it would be on my car. It's one of the few glaringly obvious choices for a cathedral type headed setup. There are many very good results already from this intake.

Verdad Gallardo You can almost buy 2 Proflows or 3 LS6 intakes for the price of a new FAST. They work though. No question about that.

I understand the price issue, I was just responding to the guy based on him sayin a fast equals disaster. I would go with a used LS6 if price were an issue. I have one on my car now because i cant find a used untouched 92. Dont wan to change my injectors and rails for an intake swap.

The whole idea of his post was that FAST and budget don't mix just like oil and water don't mix.
There are several very well known cars out there that are still running an LS6 to this day. It's a good budget option.
Does anyone have any dyno differences or information between and Edelbrock Vic Jr w/ elbow and for example an LS6. I have only seen N/A comparisons, wanted to see how the edelbrock does behind forced induction compared to an LS6.

Hot Rod mag did an LQ9 build comparing intakes the ls1 was down 9hp over the truck intake and the ls6 was only slightly less. makes me wonder if i should keep my truck intake. of course this was NA. does it really matter if im going FI?
if it were me, I would do a $30 ls1 intake and stock throttle body.
sure, the others might make a little bit more power, or a lot more power if you are at 7500rpms, but for a non all out build just add 1 more psi off boost and youre good to go
