Default Got my SC today!!

Its only a "lowly" Powerdyne, but I got it for 850 shipped with 2 thousand miles on it, looks pretty much new! Plus I sold my combination MS springs and retainers for 200 to a friend of the guy.

I've talked to Jrios quite a bit who has helped me out ALOT and am buying his fan setup and doing a custom discharge\intake setup.

If anyone has a little input on a couple of things I would appreciate it! I'm thinking 42# injectors for the 6# of boost (maybe 8 later) is that too big or about right? Room to grow? Plus what kind? I asked my tuner about SVO's and he said they would be more than 42 because of the fuel pressure of the LS1 or something like that...

Second I'm thinking an inline boost a pump for now the car only has 19K on it and the only mods I'll have HP wise is the SC and Kooks headers. Whats a good inline pump for this application? I plan on getting the intank from Racetronix when they FINALLY produce it

Any input would be greatly appreciated I did a search but most things pertain to Vortech or ATI. I plan on a safe (safe as you can be with a power adder) hella budget setup! My goal is to do the SC with water\alky injection for under 2 grand!!!

That's a pretty good price on any blower, congrats!

42# seems like alittle much for 6psi, but if your going to boost a lot more in the future, why not? also might wanna swap out that cam for a more blower friendly grind... is your bottom end forged?

HA no cam is not going to be going in now, I don't think the blower and it would get along too well

The car is basically stock I'm going to just install the Headers, Blower, and tuning and hope to get 410-420rwhp. If I don't get that I'll buy some extra belts and put the 9# pulley on which should get me there easy

When the motor goes hopefully not for awhile but with a blower and stock bottom end you never know, I'll probably sell this blower and buy a ATI or do a stroker depending on how much I like the "blown" feel

Are there any disadvantages going too big with the injectors??

Be careful, I definitely wouldn't run 9 psi of boost on a stock bottomend. You'll be picking the pieces of your pistons out of your motor... best bet would be to stick with 6psi for now, until you can afford at least pistons and rods, and an intercooler. You would def. want to stick with smaller injectors as well, prob 24lb/hr or 30 lb/hr at the most with a new tune... right now you should just concentrate on rebuilding your motor for boost.

Either way, I doubt you'll be able to run 9psi for long.. stick with the 6psi for now.. swap out the cam and some 24lb injectors and you should run okay for the time being. Your motor will eventually fall victim to the boost, though.

Edit- Just thought of something, how big are LS1 injectors stock?

They are 28.8 but Jrios was maxing his 36's out with an FMU on his 9# setup of course he has heads and cam and is running 473 HP. I agree 6 will be enough for awhile anyways. Even with 6 I'm taking into account a shortblock. Luckily shortblocks are going for under 3K from a few sponsers now!

I'm not going to run the FMU so I'm going to need bigger then the 28.6 I'm just torn between 36 and 42....... I'm just going to run the stock cam for now.

In that case I'd say go with the 42, but either one will be fine, I didn't realize LS1 injectors were that size from the factory. It all really depends on how soon you plan to run more boost, 42s should run fine though. I'll let one of the more experienced guys step in the injector convo goes any further... good luck with the setup

I would get some 42's at the least, that will allow some room for upgrading in the future, you can get away with 9psi with a good tune, thats how most of the vortech cars are setup with the LS1's, stock compression.........

If you have high compression and try to boost, you are going to have some major issues.......
