wastegate to it's own muffler
most people just dump it if they dont reroute the wastegate.
makes it oud, i suppose you could use its own muffler, wouldnt need to be big.
or you could just route the wastegate back in further down the bettter.

think you are a tad misinformed..
you can vent the wastegate to atmosphere or back into the downpipe. may pick up hp by venting to atmosphere because of the downpipes size, but nothing to do with the manifold.
if you are talking about positioning the wastegate before the manifold vs. after, then thats a nother story.. and highly debated
