Need opinions on turbo So I have the ability to get a Garrett T6 turbo for the price of the core. I work on heavy machinery and they are replacing it because it is starting to push oil through the exhaust. This is a normal occurance for us because ooperators shut the engine off before the turbo is cooled causing it to back and block the doil passage and then starts pushing oil into the exhaust. It has ZERO shaft play. My question is would it be worth grabbing? It is a A/R 1.27 HOT --.69 COLD. It would be going on a 5.3 first then a 6.0 in a year or two. Also how much would it cost to repair/how hard would it be to pull apargt and fix myself? How fast would it stall and how much power could be made? It is in a 87 s10 and is currently carbed with a 150shot running mid 6's 1/8 mile. I would want to run mid to low 6s.
