The Spec Stage 3 is a garbage clutch, I had one when I had my 6-speed with a cam only setup and it was properly broke in for 500 miles and I still fried it only making about 370rwhp at the time.........

Rob,
Incredible numbers. I never thought that was possible. Sounds like you have a real Supra killer there.
I hope you have a tranny shield and drive shaft loop.

Thats funny my car made 541rwhp 645rwtq and I dumped the clutch from 6gs spraying a 200 shot and I never had a problem with that clutch. My race weight was also 3750lbs.

Thanks everyone for the support. I'm just glad this didn't turn into the *other* thread.
FWIW, I'm not so sure that this clutch has done that badly. It's been in there for almost 5,000 miles. HARD miles. Granted, I have yet to ever even launch the car, but it has held up for a lot of dyno pulls as well.
I'm going to talk to Dave at SPEC about it soon and see if he can come up with something for us. I really like the street manners of the Stage 3-I...it's literally just like stock. And at this point, I'm not ready to give up my streetability. I'll let you all know what I find out.
Thanks again.

Nice.
Will from Dynojet (www.dynojet.com) said to make sure the tires are warmed up and at proper inflation, cold tires can spin the dyno, and to also check the knurling on the roller to see if it's worn smooth from debris.

We even tried positioning the car on both sides of the roller. It did best placing it on the backside, FWIW.
Anymore ideas? I'm all ears...well....and *****.

Do the 98 style heads have more perimeter bolts?

Oh yeah to that poor little engine. I can't wait until we go to the event and run the car. I really just want to get back and see how much that engine can take before it goes

I'm running a SPEC Stage 4, and it appears to clamp ok with a h/c/n20 setup.. Very streetable once you abuse it on the dragstrip. However, I get the feeling its truly no stronger than a Stage 3, just more aggressive in engagement.. Same pressure plate I *think* ...
