That type of header will offer very little benefit over the manifolds because the tube length is not equal. The problem we all run into is fitting the parts in the darn car! Ultimately if you can make headers that will produce more engine power it will help the car perform better off boost, and that equals better overall power. If you can pick up 50ftlbs at 3000 rpm you could spool a larger turbo or run a tighter converter, those things will make the car faster overall. The headers in the picture are a set we made for a 69 Camaro with the LS7 type head. The port tubing is 1 7/8 at the flange tapering in the first inch down to 1 3/4 so the port in the head was not blocked. The primary tube is only 21 inches long, shorter than I wanted but it was all I could fit with where I needed the turbo placed! This will give each cylinder more tuning length to pick up low speed tq and get on boost sooner by turning the wheels faster with the additional ex flow (power). Ex manifolds will always have a place as the cost is low and on boost they rock, but for ultimate drivability and power it will be better with a tuned header.
