Default Stick with the 241s or go 243 heads?

So long story short I blew my forged 348 up a few months ago. I'm building another ls1 now. I need to put some money in the heads due to them being slightly damaged. Nothing major.

should I switch it up? My 241s are ported but I didn't get any flow numbers when I bought them. I was thinking of buying the texas speed ported 243 heads.

Would I really see much of a power gain on a boosted set up? I made 675whp with the 241s and then ran out of turbo.

Go with 317s. They flow the same as 243s but have bigger combustion chambers...and are cheaper.

My other option would be put a couple hundred into my current 241s and save alittle cash. I guess my question would be are 317 or 243 heads that much better than ported 241s? Will I really see an increase in power?

Its a matter of lowered compression more than anything, the 317s drop you about a half point. With FI you dont need to have awesome flowing heads to make gobs of power either

I still have pistons to buy so I can lower the compression that way.

i wouldnt even consider lowering compression if its 10:1 or less. No reason to go lower than that with todays technology. I vote to keep the 241s myself, you wont be head limited anyway

Where can you find 317s? Like what do they come off of?

I also ran 317s on my 6.0L up to 18lbs, completely stock motor with a cam. I dont suggest EVER going below 9.5:1 compression though, high compression turbo motors are the best of both worlds
