Which Turbine housing should I run?

Default Which Turbine housing should I run?

I am moving my GT-88 up front. I have two different turbine housings for it. One is a T-6 flanged 1.08 AR with a 5" outlet, and the other is a PT T-4 flanged .96 AR with a 4" outlet.

The 408 made 844rwhp with the GT-88 .96 T-4 mounted on the rear of the car, but the spool was terrible. I am moving the turbo up front and my new power goal is 1000rwhp, and I want little to no lag. It has to spool fast enough to work with the tree. I have a Two Step, and a Transbrake already.

Why the T-6? I DO NOT want lag. Our tree is really fast, I think .5 seconds from when the last person turns his light on. No time to play. I plan to shift between 6500 and 7000rpm too.

With a good converter a 1.08 t6 will spool plenty fast for a tree upfront on a 408. Putting a t4 housing on it is just going to limit top end HP.

You should not have any problem spooling that turbo with a T-6 1.08. I was able to spool (and race) a 101mm 1.32 A/R G-trim with a 364 cu in in 2008. made about 1400bhp. When you move everything...if it doesn't spool fast enough..it's in the tune, converter or both.

I have a 347 with the gt-88 t6 1.08. There's very little lag. From a roll the boost is almost instant

Thanks Shawn. I was goning to order your turbo headers hot side kit, but Friday, Dec. 31, 2010, I lost the wheels studs on the rear drivers side tire, lost control and hit a pole! So now the money I was going to use to get your kit with, I will have to use to pick up another roler. Ed saw the picks in my other post. Pretty nasty. So maybe later in the year I will have recovered enough to order them. For now I am going to have to just run the cast manifolds.

I am going to move that cam back to 0 degrees installed Advance. Sound good?

Man I really want a set of that turbo headers! Hummmmmm.

Stock manafolds will do the same over tube headers. If tube headers is what u want then it would add bling over the manafolds. I wanted tube headers also but hell if 6.0 manafolds can put a car into 7's then Im not going to reinvent the wheel.

Yeah,ed showed me the pics this morning. That really sucks man. Glad everyone was ok though. Cars can be replaced,people can't. Good luck on getting it back together.

i usually run the cam on a 109 icl.

You are right about that. It scared the cr@p out of me. No cage in it at the time. For the next three nights all i could dream about was what could have happened if the pole hit three more feet to the rear! It is getting a full cage now.

I will install it on a 109.
