Default Project 4 letter word...

This is a little build i'm doing at the house to break in the new TIG. It's a 1990 GT convertible that had a 347 or some junk in it. The owner is in love with his car and plans to keep it forever, but wants it to run and drive like a brand new car. He decides, what better way to make a 21yo car to run and drive like a brand new car, i'll buy all new parts. When he said all, he meant all. So he brought me the car, the brand new from Ford 04 Cobra crate engine, the matching T56 transmission, and a huge pile of parts. I was pretty excited about this build. He has done tons of research, and really wanted this car.

Then he dicided while we were building it, go ahead and give it a little more power.

Yes its going to be intercooled, I just haven't clocked the turbo yet.

Will be a fun car, it doesn't look like a 2000, its a fox body, which is why it will be a fun build.

Not my first choice in motors either, but he is putting the best of everything on it and it will make great power. So the car will still be very nice.

Ya i noticed that, but your post made it sounded like you were going with a single turbo setup

Twins are twice the fun haha

Personally I would've spent the money on a KB or a Whipple to save weight and have the instant TQ, not to mention I love a good roots blower whine.

Awesome build either way. Good luck.

A Whipples and KB's are not Roots. They are a Twinscrew and have "internal compression." Mod motors react incredibly well to turbochargers. The twinscrew option is easier and cheaper, but there is NO COMPARISON between the potential of a twin screw compared to a turbocharger.

That was a period.

Is the car getting painted a different color at all? Or is this solely an engine/turbo build for max hp/track use?; aka not really caring about how it looks on the outside...
Either way, at least I'm sure it will sound nice

Appearance is just as important as performance to the owner. Symmetry helps with the underhood appearance. I'm building the intercooler.

I don't really plan on pushing it over 850. They are Turbonetics BB HP58's. I'm also doing quite a bit of chassis and suspension work. Besides, 90% of the people out there think. blowing the tires off = fast car.

He had it painted not to long ago. The paint job looks pretty good. I have some sheetmetal work to do under the hood, so after everything is built i'll pull every and get the engine bay painted.

I think with those polished compressor housings and polished piping doing the valve covers in a black wrinkle powder coat would really look cool.
