Default Need Help!!! I think I damaged my engine!!

Well to start of, I have a 98 SS that I installed a Lt4 with a p600b procharger to make albs of boost. It has complete forged bottom end with a CR of 9.5:1. Fully build Edelbrock heads and ur usual bolt ons. Now I had send out my PCM to PCM for Less to get it tuned for my set up and to tune it to run unleded 100 octane. So here's the thing, I finally finished the car and got it running. It turned on the first attempt with no problem and even took it out for a couple of rides. Everything was going perfect until my smart *** decided to pump 91 octane because I was running low on fuel and I didn't think it was going to affect it as much. I was completely wrong! I drove the car about 5 miles on the freeway at 3K rpms when it started snacking and slowly misfiring. As soon as I got off the freeway the backfiring was so loud it was like a shotgun going off! Once I turned it off it would hesitate to start and died right away. Once i got home I drained the fuel completely and changed the sparkplugs. It slowly started up and idle on it's on but would still backfire. And now I don't know what else to do before I start taking it apart again. Would anyone havecan idea of what could be happening? I'm not a professional mechanics but I get around an engine easily and I know the basics. Please Help!

Check engine is on, but I have always had it on saying MIL malfunction and I know is because of the tune. But I had that same code even with my old Lt1 that was first on the car. That's the first thing I checked with the scanner.

Yeah I went the other way around and put an lt4 on the newt body Camaro! Lol I have had tunes before with no problems but since I'm not that familiar with boost as much. I called PCM for less and he said he could do it. But what u mean beating on it?

Meaning you don't actually know where the timing is running. And do you even have a wideband installed? If you did, what kind of ratio where you running under boost?

I had a narrow band and I had just received the wideband when it happen. Oh, I see. Yeah well this was my first boosted engine and I guess there was more to learn before I did the install.

If it wasn't making any noise, then you put 93 octane and drove under 3K for 5 miles, you shouldn't have hurt anything. Maybe a rocker came loose. Makes a nasty backfire sound.

Well I people have told me it might be a burn valve or even a bent pushrod, but of course I'm thinking the worst like the pistons or ring damage cause I was Probably pre detonating. I have a girdle for the rocker studs so it would be kinda hard for one to get lose.

Well there is no metal to metal sounds or knocks or clicks on the engine but then again i haven't open the the trottle too much to see what happens at higher rpm. Um running dual valve springs.

Forgot to mention; the last time I got it started, I had it on for a couple of minutes then shut it off and removed the intake elbow and removed the valve cover breather. What I found was greyish smoke coming from inside the intake manifold and from inside the valve cover! It didn't really smell like raw fuel. It was almost odorless.

Start it up and check to see if it blows out of the valve cover breather. As far as the backfiring goes dose it still have an optispark? if so that sounds like the rotor fell off or the opti is bad. We need a video of it running to get a beatter idea what it sounds like.

I will try to get the video of it. That was another thing I was thinking cause I have had busted optis in the past and one time on my old engine it was backfiring about the same as now, but I'm kinda taking it of the equation because the car ran fine until that day I pumped the lower octane. And when I drained the old fuel and replaced the sparkplugs it wanted to start like normal but then the backfiring came back.
