camshaft recommendation for 400 ci

Default camshaft recommendation for 400 ci

hi guys,
just trying to get some info for a cam for my new engine,
specs are as follows,
lsx cast block,
4" bore,
cp/wiseco 14cc dish pistons,
compstar 6.125" rods
callies crank 4"
mast motorsports med bore cnc 6 bolt heads,(ls3/l92 port)70cc chamber
arp studs top and bottom,
ls3/l92 intake,90 holley t/body,
siemans short 80lb injectors,
t51r garrett roller bearing turbo,(10-16lb boost max)
60mm tial w/gate,
600x300x76 cooler,
th400 3600 conv t/brake etc,
9" diff 3.0:1 gears
car weight is 3250lb
only require approx 700rwhp
any thoughts,would be much appreciated

What rpm range are you wanting to stay in? 236/236 114 comes into mind.

thanks for reply,
rpm max would be 6700
i dont need or want to turn it too hard.
i has gone 10.01@138mph on 26x8.5 hoosiers in full street guise(6lt/8lb boost)
just want it nice reliable(hense the lsx block/6 bolt heads)
was running 224/230 114l/c in that combo.

thanks bob,
does it matter turbo or supercharger?
bias to the intake(turbo),and bias to exhaust (supercharger)?
or is that an old wives tale?
thanks again for imput,and i may be in for a cam

The first car that this cam profile was ever used in was a Corvette Z06 that had an HP Turbo system on it. It made 800+ rwhp without a lot of boost. The customer wanted a cam that would have a musclecar idle to it that would work well with his twin turbos. There are cam profiles that are going to be better suited for use with a turbo, but this cam still does a good job. Bob

The Brutespeed 232/240 cam is awesome! Im running that one and it has a VERY good sound even though its on a 115. Chops pretty good at idle.
Chop+blower+whistle=sex hahaha
