Pretty much. There was very little resistance against a small allen key. It was more than hand tight but hand tight was hands with ARP lube all over them haha. If I felt like it was enough to damage the threads I wouldn't have proceeded. Most likely it was a dusting of surface rust left from the block being washed before assembly.
yes it is a iron block I actually tried that same process and they where still really tough atleast tough enough to strip them I ordered the somewhat pricey arp thread chaser so hopefully the you pay for what you get modo will come into play with this cause man is this frustrating
