408 with D1SC... Can't decide which is the way to go? Street Car and really do not want to cut it up, does anyone know how much modification is need with the GMPP? Researched all kinds of threads but still seemed like nothing has been proven to be better or worse. Opinions are apperciated.
Thanks

If the gmpp intake would not require cutting the cowl that seem to be the way. From what i have read people end up butching the cowl and putting a accufab on and having good results. Being FI they all will work but which is producing the most. On average i would tend to think most people are not going to far past 7K. However i could be wrong.

Depends what your looking for. With a gmpp or vic jr intake there less efficient in the lower rpm ranges but have a little better gains in the 6000+rpm range over the fast. The fast however is better in the low ranges. I read a comparison between the vic jr and the fast 90mm. The fast was better than the vic jr until about 6400rpms then the vic jr started to take over. But like stated above i dont think your going much higher than 7000rpms. and now that the fast is a 102mm who knows? I've also seen people running up to 18lbs of boost on the fast intake and it has been fine. no deflection. Now if this was a 25lbs boost or something that redlined at 9000rpms i would say gmpp or vic jr. But if you want to drive around the city and have plenty of low end power i would say fast.

I don't see you making a bad decision if you went with either the Vic Jr or the FAST. I had a Vic Jr on my 408 with an F-1A, and it did a great job. For basically street use I'd probably go with the FAST. Bob

Thanks, I appreciate it. It seems to me the GMPP is around .38 shorter but I don't remember the exact specs. Bob

Your participation in this thread and others like it have certainly acquired my attention and during this next year, as I start putting together the parts I need for my 390 ci Procharger F series build, you'll be high on the list of people I'll be contacting. Thanks for being a sponsor and for being an active participant in the forum.
