Default Solid roller cam?

I bought a forged 370 for my turbo build. it has a custom grind solid roller cam...

My plan was to buy a set of shaft mount rockers to be able to run the solid roller setup, Now thinking about selling to run hyd. roller. This is for more of a track car than street, Any of you guys running a solid roller cam? How often do you have to adjust and how much of a pain in the *** is it?

Thanks

While LS2Formula's car is a solid roller, it really doesn't need to be and wouldn't be if he hadn't already had the Jesel rocker system leftover from a previous high rpm nitrous build. Rocker adjustment is a pain in the ***. If you aren't intending on turning 8K RPM and running a 5/4 race cam, hydraulic is your friend.

I run an FTI converter and it stalls around 4500-4800 RPM. 22 psi to run the number at my 3850-3900# race weight.

Also, what are the numbers on the "solid" cam. You may be able to just throw in hydraulic lifters and call it a day. The first 2 "solid" cams that we got from Comp had hydraulic lobes on them.

Yeah, I wouldn't use that cam.

Where is the 224/224 cam in your sig? That thing would work way better with a turbo than with a supercharger.

Unless those 317's have some work, they got nothing past .580ish lift. No reason to use a cam with all that lift when the heads are done flowing so much lower. I would keep lift closer to .600 on the cam. Also, those heads already have poor exh flow as com pared to their intake flow. I would have the split go forward instead of backwards. In a nutshell, that cam may be good for a turbo setup but not yours IMO.

What turbo do you plan to run?

I run a 232/232 595/595 114 hydraulic in mine. It's an off the shelf cam from Livernois. The stage 2 cam to be exact. I have AFR 225 heads.

You ever heard of a 3/4 race cam? It's lingo that the old timers used to use. 5/4 is a 1 1/4 race cam like all the local guys like to use and then want it to idle like stock.

Life is too short not to run a solid roller.

I stole that.

Your knock sensors may not like a solid roller.

Never heard that lingo before lol. What are the details of LS2Formula's high rpm nitrous build? Just curious about the heads, cam, and nitrous.

Were. It's a turbo car now. It was basically the same as it is now but with a big cam. High 260's duration and lift in the 660 to 670 range IIRC. It's been a while. I'm trying to forget those days and it was so difficult to go fast. Boost is definitely the answer.
