Default 650whp 700wtq season over...

Just got done changing my wheels and parking it in the garage for the winter. Snow storm coming tomorrow I guess. All in all not bad progress for one year. Thoughts for spring are fuel system bigger injectors electronic boost controller and more boost. Then clean up the loose ends.

We are opposite here. We work on them during the summer because its not much fun driving the cars in the heat, even with ac. Then winter time rolls around its the time to have fun and drive them.

I took the car out of storage last week, and brought it home. My radiator seems to have a pin hole in the core. It barely leaks at all, and you can just hear it hissing when you shut the car off. I pulled that out to fix or replace. I also had some rodent problems which I need to clean up. Nothing too bad, but I know the interior has to come apart for a good cleaning. There is no way to get rid of that mice smell otherwise. So some progress here for early spring. I also ordered new window regulators with motors. Have the driver side installed, will do the passenger side when the car is running again. Other items on order are new factory floor mats, a replacement speaker set from Kee Audio, and a factory steering shaft to fix the wiggle in my aftermarket double D for the manual rack.

Well I was trying to iron out my cooling system issues. I had a small leak in the radiator that I wasn't able to fix, and the car also gets a little warm in the hotter months in stop and go. I purchased a derale 14" fan to install behind the radiator, but when I received it today I realized it wasn't going to fit. I already had some interest to upgrade to a larger radiator for extra head room. Anyway one thing leads to another and now this is what's sitting in my garage.

I wanted to post up an update of my not so performance oriented progress. The interior is almost all back together. I have to finish installing the speaker in the passenger side door, and that's about it. Very happy with the Kee Audio basic speaker package installation and sound. I tucked my HPtuners cable into the center console so I can keep the module in the center compartment instead of having the cable dangling by my feet while driving.

I ordered my new radiator from Griffin on Friday. After cutting my lower radiator support I'm confident I can get a 19" tall radiator to fit. I ordered the double pass 27.5 x 19 with the largest 1.5" tubes they offered. Once I get some real fans on the core this thing shouldn't have any problems keeping the car cool in the hottest weather.

The radiator came in from Griffin today. Quick test fit shows it will work out perfect. Pretty excited to get this thing back up ad running. I found out that the only E85 station in Ct. is local to me so I will be switching over this season. Can't wait!

Here is a picture comparing the 1-55241-X and the new 1-85242-XS.

Got a little progress done today. Fabricated my new hood latch and safety. I was able to integrate this right into my intercooler mount/bumperbar. Cut up the factory hood latch plate and used 1/4" rod for the safety catch.

Thanks! It's coming along nicely. I just need to order my new fan and I can fabricate my radiator mounts and put it all back together. I think at some point I'm going to pull the engine and transmission out and detail the entire engine bay along with a wire tuck. I'm proud of my work, but the engine compartment itself is so dirty its embarrassing.

Just read everything from all seven pages. Car seems like a lot of fun. I agree that there is more in it with a built bottom end. I will be building a single turbo setup for the vette over the summer and i will be referencing this build much. Your welding skills are insane and frankly im a little jealous. But nice rig and hope you work out the kinks. OH and E85 is fantastic. You must add approx. 9% more fuel across the board and have huge injectors and maybe a double pump if you didnt know that already. Good luck and if you want pm me your .hpt/.hpl files so i can check out your tune. Maybe I could see something that is up. I tuned my evo on e85 (550 awhp) and my vette (512 rwhp on spray).

Thanks for the kind words everyone. I just finished up getting my gauge panel and gauges setup. I just need to finish the wiring and hooking up my data logger. These are the autometer elite series gauges. Very happy so far!

Nice! I really like the 3 gauges placement, I thought about doing that to mine but I don't really want to loose both of the center air-outlets, I just think that my 3 pillar gauge pod is a bit too much and is such a give away for street car look that I'm trying to keep.

I only use the heat so it's not a big deal for me. I just finished fabricating some fan mounts for my radiator. I refused to use the thru radiator zip ties this time around. Once it's mounted I'll take some pictures.

Finished my fan mounting brackets and was able to get the radiator mocked up in the car.

Got some work done today on my lower radiator mounts and bumper cover support. Once I finish everything off I'm going to paint everything black or get it powder coated. I still need to finish a few more items, but getting close to driving it again!
