please give some advise
So I spun a rod bearing in my ls1 the other night due to oil pressure.so basically at the moment I have a cammed high mile ls1 that needs a rebuild and I'm thinking of doing a rearmount set up.obviously I need a different cam. I keep seeing people talking about using 5.3 for Turbo set ups are they really better to use then ls1? If so it would be far cheaper. What are your guys thoughts on this? My goal would be 450-500 rwhp in car in sig without spinning more than 6200 rpm. Ideally I'd like to have the stock revlimit and the same driveability I had before the donkey dick cam but with the power.as far as the Turbo goes I was thinking about a master power t70 with a .68ar or a t76 with the same ar. Suggestions? I know what is involved this wouldn't be my first Turbo car but am a little unsure on few things. I miss the addicting feeling of boost from my old 5.0 but I want the driveability of a stock car.
Thanks joe

Your sig isn't visable.
If you're not afraid of the weight, grab a 5.3 or 6.0 iron stock engine. Stock cam or an LS6 cam would be fine for 500whp. Replace the rod bolts with ARP hardware. Any heads will work fine for that power level, just use MLS gaskets and ARP studs.
Masterpower T70 would be fine for that power level as well. Go with a .81AR if you're a stick car with a rear mount, .96 if you're an auto or front mount. The .81 will gain some spool and lose some upper end. Build your own rear or front mount, use an eBay front mount.
Walbro fuel pump and some 60lb injectors.

Cool thanks for the advice. Good to know sig isn't visable. Car is a 98 z28 m6
With Bolton's plus a trickflow 238/242 which will go bye bye.not afraid of the weight more the displacement loss. But if a 5.3 can make the number I could sell my ls1. Would there be any benefit to running my #241 heads over the 5.3s #706? Bigger valves? Lower compression=more boost?
Longtubes cause a big problem for spooling?
Thanks joe
