Question Where to plumb boost reference line from Procharger

hey guys, just finishing up my new dual pump fuel system. Last thing to do is hook up the boost reference line to the regulator. what's the best place and method to get boost reference on a ProCharged system? Would prefer not to drill and tap the metal tubing but looks like that might be the only option.

thanks!

Don't you have any vacuum lines you could tap into?

I was told that it needs to see boost only, not vacuum.

What's a one way thingy?

You mean one way check valve?

A check valve will not work properly..... it will hold pressure as well.

On the G8, you cannot run below 58# due to the fuel transfer function.

For boost reference (positive pressure only), anywhere in front of the throttle body, preferrably as close as possible to it to get an accurate pressure.

OK, I guess my only option is to drill and tap the metal elbow. I wish there was a better way to get it; I don't trust NPT threads in such thin metal.

This is a G8 only thing, right? I have never seen a BRFPR hooked up to anything other than the intake.

Typically anything with a fuel transfer system... such as all C5 & C6 Vettes, G8's, 2010 Camaros etc. These need a minimum pressure to keep the transfer system working. Typically 58psi is the minimum pressure to maintain. Boost reference is OK, but the drop due to vacuum can cause problems.

Do the other systems with a blower run at a constant 58-60 PSI without boost reference and then tuned through the computer, OR is a boost reference regulator absolutely necessary?

Boost referencing is not necessary, but it extends the usable range of the injectors by keeping fuel pressure linear with manifold pressure.

So would it be ideal to run it if you have it? I'm asking because I was just going to set the pressure at a steady 58-60 and leave it. But if it would run more efficiently with it I'll hook it up. Just trying to get everything right before I fire it up. By the way, this is a retro fit setup in a 82 Monte Carlo with a Magna fuel 750 fuel pump.

I always boost reference when possible.
