93 Mustang Notch 5.3 TC78 build
Figured I would throw up a quick build thread on my latest project. First time stepping into Forced Induction for me but it has been a fun learning curve thus far. Built and tigged all of the turbo piping (among other things) myself in my garage...
Quick rundown of the car
93 Mustang Notch
2004 5.3 motor with 317 heads
Edelbrock Proflo intake
Fast 92mm throttle body
YatesEFI wiring harness
Turbo:
2010 Camaro manifolds
Turbonetics TC78
Tial Wastegate and BOV
Maxwell built TH400 with a RMVB and a TCI Brake
AJE K Member
Tubular control arms front and rear
Strange front brakes
Aerospace Dual Caliper rears
Strange Coilovers all around
9 inch Ford rear
About done with all the fab work. Currently working on wiring. The car is headed to Midwest Chassis in a few weeks to have the cage finished and an anti-roll bar made. Will pull everything apart and have stuff powder coated/ceramic coated and painted while that is being done. Hoping to be out roaming the streets by springtime!
When I got it...
Now...
Missing the throttle body coupler, changed throttle bodies and haven't got the new one yet.

I think I talked talked to you last summer about this car. Looks like you have some nice stuff there. What hood are you going to run?
I wanted D10s too, but I picked up a set of Racestars @ the swap meet & did them in Hot Rod black. They will do for now.

Jason right?
Yeah actually this is a different fox... My brother and I built him a hatchback gt car last year.
Decided I wanted to build one with FI for myself this season.
Running this hood (4 inch cowl) that I got with the car... Car was already painted when I bought it.

I have a hood like that too, I'm still going to try something smaller, but my car came with it, so it works for now.

Cool build, its exactly what im doing with my s10 except the TC78 is going under the bed. How does it feel with the 317 heads on the 5.3? I have a set just laying in my garage but idk if I should put them on or not if its gonna drop the CR too low and make it feel doggy.

If you had 8.75:1 CR would that be too low and is 9.5:1 the magic # ?]
Within reason ie not 7.5:1 can't more boost compensate for the lower CR?

Nice build man. Mine will be going up to speed inc march 15th to get tuned. Didnt realize there were gonna be so many ls turbo stangs around here. Think its time to find me somethin different and that have a sleeper look to it. Good luck finishing it and Hope to see it out this year.
