Default Cam Recomendations For FI

I am about a week out from picking up a new D1SC kit for my '01 T/A. I was wondering what cam you guys are using/recommending with a D1SC? Here is my current engine set up:

AFR 205 heads w/ 66cc chamber and 8019 spring upgrade
LSX intake w/ FAST 90mm TB
Comp 1.75:1 pro mag roller rockers
Comp R lifters
Comp 7.400" Hi-Tech push rods
Comp cam: Duration @ .050- 228 in. 230 ex. Lift- .571 in. .573 ex. 112 LSA
SLP 1 3/4 LT's
3" ORY
3" Corsa Cat Back (purchased in '03)

I don't think my current cam is optimal for use in an FI application. My first thought was to go with comp's Centrifugal Blower cam.
Part number 54-477-11. I would like some numbers from you guys to help make a choice. My car might make 1 trip a year to the drag strip. It is mainly a weekend driver, but I want to make sure I can take any other street Mustang (possibaly 'vette) light to light if the opertunity presents itself.

Hard to beat the EPP cam from brute speed imo. Performs great and even has a nice lopey idle to it!

Is this too much lift for a blower? I have heard from a few people that blowers dont benefit from lots of lift.

I'm not questioning your recommendation, just trying to get my facts straight

Im in the same situation, I would also like to know why the cam you recommend would be good. Some theory on why that cam design would be good would help me understand why you recommend that cam.

Looks like a great cam, what do you think about putting that big of a cam in a single cab silverado with 10:1 compression and s475 front mount turbo kit? More of a street truck so little lag is a good thing.

We've used it with an STS rear mount back at the old shop, and it worked out really well.

Hey, aren't you "hold'd up" in the Bahamas? Bob

Is higher lift then this, say around the .650 mark wasted on a blower Bob?

It depends on the build. Keep in mind that higher boost levels require more valvespring, and a .650 lift camshaft is going to require higher pressure valvesprings. Bob

So in other words there is no hard and fast answer, things like blower selection, cubic capacity and what the car is to be used for are all factors in whether higher lift is better

You are indeed correct. Our blower cam has worked very well in many different combinations but there are always going to be builds that can use a higher lift camshaft. Bob

If i also understand the cam doesnt really make that big of a difference (few hp) until your putting down more that 10lb of boost is this the case???

No, a good cam will boost up an engine by quite a bit even at 8 psi. A good example is this build we did back at the old shop that is now closed. http://www.exoticperformanceplus.com...Car.php?car=59 Bob
