Default Exhaust temp coating

I want to get my hot side coated but we dont have anyone up here that does "ceramic" coating in Alaska but 1 shop does offer high temp coating. He says it is good to about 1700 degrees. How hot does the hot piping get??

Im not going to spend over 1k for coatings haha. It would cost almost 400 for shipping back and forth. Alaska sucks sometimes...

Well there are a few new ceramics you can shoot yourself out now. They still require a decent setup with a exhaust fan booth to pull vacuum of some sort and spray through an air brush gun. Some are air dry to touch and full cure on first heat cyle of the engine. Still probably gonna cost a decent amount.

Why don't you just use header wrap? Cheap and actually works better than ceramic coating. Not as pretty or clean as coating though.

Where is he out of? That 3000* **** is supposed to be pretty damn good at not changing colors too! I think you can just post his info on here since there aren't any sponsors who do coating. PM me if you'd prefer though.

Thanks!

I did my ceramic coating myself. It's not too bad to do if you have a oven large enough for the parts. I used TurboX flat black coating. THere should be some pics of the coating process in my build thread in my sig.

When I had my '75 Corvette up there, I had the headers and side pipes ceramic coated by Advanced Powder Coating out in Big Lake...do they not do it anymore?

Well if it O.K to post his info, this is the best way to view his stuff because he is still having his website put together. http://www.facebook.com/#!/UnknownCoatings he just finished my wheels and brake calipers and all I can say is WOW these things look great!!! Yeah, I'm missing a lug nut. can not find it anywhere, somewhere between his shop and my shop I lost it FML but he did the black wheels and pink stuff.

I asked him about ceramic coating and he said he only had a high temp coating. Im pretty much only doing it for aesthetics anyway. He said he would do my entire kit for 350. Gonna bring it out to him on Monday after I clean up these shitty welds...
