Got a good amount done last weekend. Forgot to post up the pic. I like the look of the intake. Should go nicely with the FRCs.
Now I just gotta figure out where all of these damn sensors and bolts go. Couldn't figure out exactly where in the head the coolant temp sensor went and there's still a couple ground straps, one to the block near the alternator and one to the alternator that I couldn't find. I'll figure it out next time.

Also need to get new rockers. Either looking for Yella Terras or else I'll see if TSP sells the upgraded stockers individually. A couple of the ones I assembled aren't turning right. Also, one of the bearings threw those little needles all over in the bag Tried to put them all back together but it didn't work out right. Hopefully they'll just sell me the 5 or 6 I need to complete the rocker setup. Also need to get a pushrod checker and measure for the new cam.

Forgot to post these up from a few weeks ago. Got my new torque arm and driveshaft loop in. Also got the exhaust put back into place. Bought an angle finder so I'll be setting everything up in a couple weeks. Didn't think that eyeballing the angle would turn out too well

Almost there bitches!

Couple more questions on harnesses.

This one is toward the cabin near where the AC hoses go into the car. Any idea what it is? Pretty sure it was an AC one but not sure.

This one was on the same run of wires as the harness going to the AC pump. I think it was hooked up to where the EGR pump used to be but not sure on the either.

Also, I measured my pushrod length and wanted to double check I got it right. After 10 turns (7.300") I had no play between the pushrod and lifter (zero lash I believe they call it?) So 1/4 turn past zero last would put me at 7.325". Add in my desired preload of .075" and I come up with 7.400" for the pushrod length I need. That sound right to everyone? Installed the 7.400" pushrods I had and they appeared to fit fine.

Anyone have pictures or diagrams of where the damn ground straps on this thing go? Have the ones on the heads taken care of. Then there are two near the alternator. One is grounded to the frame and one to the motor IIRC.

From my crappy cell phone video cam but here's the first startup!

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GXQ_AO79KyQ

Took it out for about 20 miles and things went well. Have to get a relearn done on the cam and crank sensors and a good tune. Seems to be running very rich which would make sense with the compression drop. The exhaust fumes were pretty hard on the eyes.
Sounded great and seemed to run smooth. Once I ventured into slightly higher RPMs (3500-4000) there was some sputtering going on. Plugs and wires seem to be fine so I'm hoping it's just a tuning issue.

Think I'll award a prize to the 100th person to point that out. We're probably up around 70 or so now between this site and my local one!

Caught a good deal on a 76mm Chika Chinese turbo. The downside is it has a .88 A/R which will probably choke a bit up top. But I'm not planning on having this turbo in there for more than a couple years. Also picked up a 44mm Turbosmart wastegate and a Tial BOV.
Read up on AEM UEGO wideband O2 sensors and ended up picking a new one off of ebay for $180 shipped. I've heard they are good units. Also got a Glowshift fuel pressure gauge and boost/vacuum gauge and 3 gauge pod.

500 miles in and the motor is running great. The new crossmember mounted torque arm is close to driving me insane but part of that is the exhaust being too close too the crossmember driveshaft loop and rattling on it. Going to hang the exhaust up higher so hopefully that helps out. There is definitely a noticeable loss of power with the compression drop but that was expected. Got my a-pillar gauges in last weekend.

This winter. Going to put about 1500 or so miles on the motor/clutch and work all of the little bugs out first. Been going good so far though. Been doing some other small things in the meantime like the battery relocation and getting the gauges installed. Nice to not have the car an hour and a half away anymore. Can actually work on things on my own time.

Just gonna throw a little info your way. I have installed a set of the glowshift guages in a car before along with their wideband as well. A thing that noticed with them is that they use a cheap stepper motor for the guage and have about a 1 to 2 second delay in changes while operating, just keep a close eye on them. I also found out not to use the supplied clear tubing for the boost/vac guage because it is bad about expansion and collapasing while in operation.
