Default MAF Sensor Question

This is probably a dumb question, but will I still need my mass air flow sensor after I bolt on my Procharger? I though I read in a thread here where with a supercharger the air flow is so much it over flows what the sensor is capable of reading.

You can ditch the MAF if you get a SD tune. Then, if do you get an SD tune, then you will either need to get a 2 or 3 BAR MAP sensor.

The stock MAF can handle a fairly high amount of boost. How much were you planning on running? You will likely be able to run the MAF.

My MAF maxed out around 7-8psi on my 347 setup. I wouldnt exactly call that a high amount of boost.

I plan on running 8 to 10 psi boost. Is there any advantage to keeping the MAF or deleting it? Also I am going to get it dyno tuned, but what do you mean by SD tune?

It's called a speed density tune. Basically you just put a straight piece of pipe where the MAF used to be. Tell your tuner that's what you want and they can make it happen.
At 8-10 I would say ditch the MAF.

How big of a MAP sensor should I go with? Should I go with a 3 Bar just incase I decide to go with more boost later, or will it be easier to tune if I go with the 2 Bar? Isn't 1 Bar = 14.7 PSI

use a 2 BAR if you dont plan to go above 14-15psi, or a 3 BAR will let you go up to 30ish psi.

1 BAR is the pressure of the surrounding atmosphere, which is yes- 14.7psi. But a 1 BAR MAP will only measure up to standard surrounding pressure. (So basically, it measures vacuum, not "boost"). Boost is anything over ambient pressure. This is where air is being forced into your engine more than what it can draw in on its own with vacuum.
