Default LTCC for a Turbo Motor?

Ok, I was hoping to get a little help/advice. Currently building a 383 LT1 with a GT4202. Looking at 15-20psi boost. I am looking for an ignition that is up to the task of keeping it lit. I will be running a FAST XFI system, and was wondering if the LTCC would be a good choice. I wanted to see if anyone had any advice/better options. Also, can one plumb an MSD box in line with the LTCC or will the LTCC be more than adequate on its own? Thanks

what're your future goals? if they're not over 1100rwhp or so, i'd consider the EFI connection kit. you can do it for under 1000 bucks if you're willing to build your own wiring harness and hunt ebay for some used parts (pcm, harness, coils).

Ok, now, what other things would I need to scare up to make it all work? I'm a little in the dark with this stuff, I'm used to more conventional ignitions. and I take it that would be a more desirable system than the LTCC? Thanks

it would be IMO, it uses an LS1 pcm. are you planning on tuning this yourself or taking it to someone?

Tuning is going to be a little of both, I have a FAST expert here who said he'd help me kinda figure it all out, since I want to get a basic understanding of it. Then I was going to head over to his shop and do the fine adjustment on his dyno. A big part of it is my XFI unit was kind of needed since im using 80lb injectors and everything. the guys at pcm for less said they might be an issue with the stock or even LS1 computer. Once again, relative neophyte, just trying to understand.

the ls1 pcm wont have a problem with 80lb high z injectors, also, dont bother with a mail order tune. its really a catch 22, but you're certainly alot less limited with the fast. its gonna cost more now, probably around 3k when its all said and done. if you go with the ls1 pcm route, you'll either have to pay someone for the tune, or buy HP tuners which is 500-700 bucks. if you ever want to goto a low z injector, you'll have to buy an injector driver. xfi also comes with a 2 step built in.

NOW, one thing i would consider if you're going to run the fast is to buy the efi connection front cover conversion and reluctor wheel. its 500 bucks and it'll save you the hassle of dealing with the optispark BS.

so, how would that get rid of it? Can the FAST simply use it as a crank trigger? and then would I run a single or multiple coils and what kind of ignition?

Doing this now and just using EFI's coil setup. Get the FAST or MSD crank trigger, you'll need the XIM & harness to power the coils and you'll still need the opti but only for the cam signal. Brian Macy of Horsepower connections is the guy you need to contact as he's building my opti and harness as we speak. Tell him Silas sent ya.

Stay away from the LTCC. I had problems with spark above 15 lbs. I switch to a LS ecm conversion from efi connection. It is super simple to repin the harness. Have had no problems at 20 plus pounds now. Using a 3 bar operating system from efi live. The car has never been so drivable.
