For the last time, the Ford GT that made some crazy numbers at the Miami mile is not the record holder. The simple reason is that the timing and scoring at that event was a total failure (yes, I was running a car at that event).

You might want to look into the below tires. I've talked with some people that run the mile at maxton and tire sidewall temps are the big problem that causes tires to pop.

A TPMS system that can alert the driver to low pressure at speed is also a nice safety feature. Do not air tires down for more traction. Run max load specified pressure or close to it and check tire temps immediately after every run.

Well first off It was me driving this one so steven still has like 7 lives left lol. As for the tires after looking at the data from the race pak I am 99% sure that the wheels were spinning inside the tires and cause them to unseat the bead. We are already exploring our options for a wheel and tire combo for the next mile.
He said that bead locks would of helped. But those tires are designed for a 12'' rim. The vette didn't look like it had widened wheels.

Also the Hinson car had widened wheels. I wonder if the wheel did not break first, due to the wheel being welded on.
Btw there will be some more Ford Gt's in the near future that will run over 250. 2 more t.t cars out of texas and two out of Minnesota one t.t and one Procharged
