Default How would you do it? 408 w/STS C5

Hey everyone, my 348 has found a new home and I now have a 408 Iron block being built for my C5. I would really apreciate any advice available to complete this build and safely reach my goals. Here is what I currently have:

408 Stroker Iron Block
Wiseco -20cc w/Hellfire Rings (9.3:1 w/317's)
C6Z06 Cam--??????
ARP Hardware
317 Heads w/PAC springs (.625)?
LS6 Intake Manifold
STS Kit w/GT32's

My goal is to safely put down 750rwhp, not trying to break any records or my wallet! I'd really like to make decent low end power as these rear mounts take a while to spool.

Is the C6Z06 cam too small for my goals? What are some better options?

Should I run a Meth Kit or E85?

Will my returns style (98) fuel sytem w/KB BAP support my power goals?

I currently have a centerforce dfx, what should I upgrade to?

I'll take advice and opinions, I just want to get it right this time and not do it again!

Jerry

I would contact PatG about a custom cam. The LS7 cam is designed for a peaky 427ci engine. They aren't very good for boost. The LS6 cam works well with boost but a custom cam would work better.

Another good guy to spec you a cam is JPH on this forum. PM your info he can come up with a well suited cam for your build.

you need more fuel than your stock pumps are going to provide. Especially if you want to run E85. You'll need more pump and more injector for E85 vs. pump gas.

are you going to run the stock 97 98 rails? If so I think you should get some larger aftermarket rails. To small for 750whp

Correct me if I am wrong but are these not the correct specs:

--C6Z06 specs. 1.8 rocker
211/230 .593/.588 120.5LSA -20.5deg OL 120 ICL

I am worried that the duration may be a lil low for a stroker but figured the neg overlap would be good for boost? Of course my lift would be a lil lower with ls1 rockers.

I've been looking into custom turbo cams and may just have to splurge on one, why cheap out now...................!

Yeah, guess I didn't consider the extra 30% more fuel I would need to run E85, I have a meth kit, just never ran it before and not sure all the parts are there.

I was under the impression the return style rails would support more power than returnless rails. What power level are the return style rails good to?
