Default 317 heads ?

I'm lookin in gettin my cr to a 8.9 or 9.1 how much should I have the heads milld down to? I'm doin the 5.3 boostt72 .96 t4 build w/317 headsGM headgasket .54, z06 cam , z06intake, 80lbs inj, th400 9.5tc, 3.23 gears.

What size pistons? Im running -11cc pistons with unmilled CNCd 317s and thats what my compression is.

241's will put you at 8.9 on the stock 5.3 short block with a GM gasket

I'm usin stock 5.3 bottom. I think I should go with 241heads if it brings me there . I have about 3 sets of 317 heads.

youd want to mill about .020 off.

Remember ur removing material and making the heads thinner, possibility of lifting the head is greater now.

I would suggest picking up a pair of 243's or 799's, flow just as well and have a smaller cc.

Ur set up is VERY similar to mine except im running twins instead of a single.

why would you mill the heads if you are trying to lower your compression? keep them stock

because 317 will lower it to almost 8.5to1 and everybody generally believes that is too low

i have -22 pistons with ls9 head gasket and untouched 317s on my 370...how low is mine? 8:1? GAY!
