Default Using motor mount for ground

Im relocating the battery to the rear and Im wondering if there is an existing bolt under the hood I can use as a ground. I have solid motor mounts and was hoping I could take off some paint and use that as a ground. Will that be sufficient enough? Thanks.

If it helps, I ran a ground straight off the motor...alternator purposes. Worked out great. Aluminum is a good conductor, so just an FYI

Well I was looking at running a ground from my heads to the block, then the block to the frame. Did you run any ground from the block to the frame?

No, just straight from the block to the alt. By the sounds of it, your method will work out good.

not that I have much experience in chevy, but I do in BMW which runs the battery in the trunk. They mount the ground of the battery to the frame of the car, effectively making the whole car pretty much grounded. THey then run a braided strap from the engine or whatever to the frame of the car. When the ground runs through the car any spot of the car( use the frame though) is grounded. Again not big into chevy.... yet. but thats the way bmw does it from the factory and they have great success.

cheers

Ground it to the block then to the mount. Try to make the ground as short as possible. No more then 24"-36" at most.
